The Homelessness Crisis Is Growing

Today, Project HOME’s work has taken on a new urgency as our city’s most vulnerable populations face a rise in substance use disorders coupled with growing poverty, ongoing systemic racism, and unequal access to quality education and healthcare, and many working Philadelphians don’t have enough to live on. In addition, the population of individuals who are homeless and elderly is expected to nearly triple over the next decade.

Project HOME’s Proven Impact

Since 1989, Project HOME has been a leader in providing comprehensive and effective services to individuals experiencing chronic street homelessness.

The Project HOME model of Housing, Opportunities for Employment, Medical Care, and Education is proven to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty.

In the nation’s poorest major city, we need to continue to scale this model, coupled with behavioral health and recovery services, to prevent chronic street homelessness from taking root. We start with 24/7 street outreach and street medicine and help older adults, young adults, individuals, and families connect to life-changing next steps.

With a home comes hope, stability, community, dignity, and opportunity.

HOME Is Where The Start Is

A successful campaign will leverage public and private partnerships to maximize resources to end and prevent chronic street homelessness.

Project HOME has set a goal to raise $118 million from private sources in order to secure $122 million in public funding that, together, will help us reach a critical level of resources to stem the blight of homelessness in Philadelphia.
